Though he attended a prep school in Vermont. Bruce Dalrymple was another New York basketball phenom brought to Georgia Tech by head coach Bobby Cremins, who began his building of the Yellow Jackets’ program with Mark Price and John Salley, and kept adding to it each year. Dalrymple was the first to join the group in 1984, helping Tech to 18 wins and the NIT while earning ACC Rookie of the year honors. An ACC title and three straight NCAA Tournament appearances followed.

Along the way, Dalrymple was named to the All-ACC team, recorded the first triple-double in Tech history and became one of two players in Tech history to score 1,000 points, grab 500 rebounds and have 400 assists.

He was a second-round pick in the 1987 NBA Draft by Phoenix.
