Lapsley Breaks 55m Record to Lead Jackets at Florida Fast Times Meet

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Senior Andriane Lapsley clocked a school record and NCAA Provisional time of 6.83 in the 55-meter dash to lead Georgia Tech at the Florida Fast Times Indoor Track and Field meet on Thursday afternoon.

Sophomore Shantia Moss missed automatically qualifying for the NCAA Indoor Championships by one one-hundredth of a second, finishing the 55-meter high hurdles with a NCAA Provisional time of 7.59 to place second. Junior Fatmata Fofanah clocked a NCAA Provisional time of 7.70 in the prelims, finishing the finals in third place.

Sophomore Tenisha Griggs finished fourth in the 55m hurdles with a time of 7.92. Freshman Juan Cave posted a mark of 6 feet, 8 ¾ inches, in the men’s high jump to finish second.

A handful of Yellow Jackets will compete at the Alex Wilson Invitational, March 3-4, in South Bend, Ind.
