Georgia Tech closes out the regular season on Sunday, recognizing Nerea Hermosa, Bianca Jackson and Cameron Swartz prior to tipoff of their last home game of their collegiate careers. The Yellow Jackets look to get back to winning ways and close out the regular season with a win. GT is coming off a hard-fought loss at No. 10 Notre Dame on Thursday. Despite holding the Fighting Irish scoreless for nearly three minutes and opening with an 8-0 spurt, the Jackets couldn’t hold off Notre Dame in the loss.
Virginia Tech rides a seven-game win streak entering Sunday’s contest, having last fallen on Jan. 26 at Duke. Most recently, Elizabeth Kitley hit a buzzer-beater to lift the Hokies past North Carolina, 61-59. VT is 7-3 on the road this season, including a 5-3 league mark. The Hokies are led by Kitley, who averages a double-double behind 18.4 points and 10.7 rebounds per game.
Georgia Tech leads the all-time series against Virginia Tech, 12-8, but dropped the last season’s meeting in Blacksburg. Four Yellow Jackets finished in double-figures, but the hot-shooting Hokies took the win. GT has won six of the past nine meetings and lead the series in Atlanta, 6-2.
