Jackets Showcase at Fan Day Scrimmage

Aug. 22, 2006

ATLANTA – The Georgia Tech volleyball wrapped up its annual Fan Day with a scrimmage in front of the most loyal fans in the Atlantic Coast Conference on Saturday, Aug. 19.

“It was good for our team to scrimmage in front of our loyal fans on Saturday,” said Tech coach Bond Shymansky. “It helped the players shake the nerves off a little before we open our season with Mississippi State and Georgia at home. Our gym is unique and carries a lot of energy. The fans in attendance boosted the intensity level and anticipation of the season for our team.”

The Yellow Jackets signed autographs afterwards as they look towards the opening of the 2006 season. Tech will host the Regency Suites Midtown Invitational, Sept. 1-2, in O’Keefe Gymnasium. The Jackets will face Mississippi State (12:30 p.m.) and archrival Georgia (6 p.m.) on Friday and Georgia State (9:30 a.m.) and Northern Iowa (3:30 p.m.) on Saturday.
