TOP STORYLINES
• Georgia Tech baseball heads on the road briefly for a key Coastal Division series against North Carolina on April 15-17.
• The Yellow Jackets own an 80-69 advantage in the all-time series, but are .500 on the road. Tech has taken the last two series (2019, 2021 – did not play in 2020).
• Georgia Tech is coming off a big ACC weekend in which it downed then-No. 13 Florida State. For the series, Tech hit .327 for 23 runs against one of the top pitching staffs in the ACC, while also pitching a 2.33 team ERA and striking out 34 hitters over the three-game series.
• The Jackets have been unstoppable now fully healthy as one of the nation’s top offenses, currently ranking No. 2 overall with 409 hits on the year.
• Tech also ranks second in average (.327), fourth in runs (322), fifth in home runs (61), sixth in slugging (.544), ninth in on-base percentage (.423) and 15th in walks (181).
• Kevin Parada has been a force at the plate, being named both National Player of the Week and ACC Player of the Week after he had nine hits and four home runs last week.
• Parada currently ranks second nationally in home runs (15), fifth in RBI (50), sixth in hits (44), 10th in hits (55), and second in total bases (109).
• Also red-hot at the plate are Chandler Simpson (.494), Andrew Jenkins (.400), Tim Borden II (.337), Tres Gonzalez (.331), Drew Compton (.289) and Jake DeLeo (.280).
• Georgia Tech has shored up its middle infield with the insertion of Jadyn Jackson at shortstop. Since entering the lineup on April 1, Jackson has a seven-game hitting streak and is hitting .324 on the season.
• Last week the pitching staff was terrific, recording a 2.75 team ERA, striking out 42 over 36 innings over four games.
• Georgia Tech currently owns the No. 3 strength of schedule in the country (.611) behind only Dallas Baptist (.647) and Oklahoma (.615). Tech’s opponents thus far have an combined win percentage of .649.
• The next closest ACC teams in SOS are No. 5 Florida State (.596), No. 18 Duke (.567), No. 19 Miami (.565), No. 21 Notre Dame (.564) and No. 28 North Carolina (.560).
