Box Score (.pdf)

STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Tech baseball was unable to overcome two errors that produced four unearned runs, proving to be the difference in the 10-6 loss to Georgia Southern on Tuesday night at J.I Clements Stadium.

The Yellow Jackets (3-1) provided plenty of hits of their own (10 overall), led by Chandler Simpson, who had a 4-for-4 day with an RBI. Kevin Parada and Colin Hall both contributed two-run homers, while Tres Gonzalez went 2-for-3 for the game.

On the mound, Tech used seven pitchers on the night with LHP Dalton Smith starting. He allowed just one earned run in 1.2 innings. RHP Marquis Grissom, Jr. (0-1) received the loss after surrendering three runs on three hits in 2.1 innings.

The Eagles (1-3) were led by Noah Ledford, who finished 2-for-2 with three RBI. RHP Thomas Higgins (1-0) received the win, allowing just two runs on four hits in 3.2 innings.

Georgia Tech continues its busy start to the season of eight games in 10 days when it returns home to host Presbyterian on Wednesday, Feb. 23. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m. and will be broadcast live on ACC Network Extra and WREK 91.1 FM.
