THE FLATS – Georgia Tech men’s tennis concluded their fall season on Sunday at the GT Fall Invite. The Jackets ended the day with four victories between singles and doubles play.
Kicking off the morning with doubles play, Robert Bauer and Elias Shokry knocked off Georgia’s Parker Mariencheck and Parker Jacques 8-2.
Three Yellow Jackets secured singles wins Sunday afternoon, with Bauer and Shokry going undefeated on the day. Georgia’s Filipe Costa was no match for Bauer, as Bauer dominated the match in straight sets 6-4,6-0.
Shokry picked up his first singles win of the tournament. After a back-and-forth battle with Georgia’s Parker Jacques in the first set, Shokry fought hard to win the set 7-5. He would then go on to win the second set 6-4.
Owen DeMuth secured his first win of the tournament. In the final match against archrival Georgia, DeMuth would defeat Davis Taylor 6-4 in the first set. The second set was a back-and-forth battle between DeMuth and Taylor, which DeMuth would go on to win 7-6(6).
