THE FLATS – Georgia Tech men’s tennis continued its winning streak in outdoor dual matches with a resounding 6-1 victory over Boston College on Friday.
The doubles point went to Tech with big wins from Keshav Chopra and Chen Dong on court three and the No. 7 doubles team Andres Martin and Marcus McDaniel on court one. Chopra/Dong took their match 6-1 and Martin/McDaniel won their match 6-3.
No. 2 doubles went unfinished but featured the same doubles pairing of Brandon McKinney and Pablo Schelcher that rounds out a trio of doubles teams that has won four straight doubles points.
Singles action started with every Yellow Jacket winning the first set of their singles match. Chopra was the first to win his match when he won 6-3, 6-1. McDaniel would be the next to win 6-1, 6-4 before Schelcher clinched the match for Tech with a 6-1, 6-3 victory.
With the match already securely in hand, the Yellow Jackets would take the next two doubles matches courtesy of Martin, 6-2, 6-3, followed by Schelcher 6-1, 6-3, to take the 6-0 lead.
The White and Gold head on the road start April 1 when they head to Duke.
