TOP STORYLINES
• Wrapping up the 2022 regular season, Georgia Tech baseball marches to the midwest as it takes on Akron at Canal Park (home of the Cleveland Guardian’s AA affiliate RubberDucks) and Kent State on May 16-17.
• Georgia Tech has only played Akron once previously when it hosted the Zips for a three-game series in 2013, sweeping all three. Tech has faced off against Kent State — head coach Danny Hall’s former club — 18 total times, but have never played the Golden Flashes in Ohio.
• Georgia Tech’s seasonal resume has begun to take shape with just five games remaining in the regular season.
• Georgia Tech currently sports the toughest strength of schedule in the country (.594) with its opponents’ record sitting at a whopping 1433-888. The next closest ACC teams in the SOS ranking are Florida State (fifth), Clemson (ninth) and North Carolina (10th).
• In the RPI, a key metric for determining postseason seeding and overall performance, Georgia Tech currently sits 26th.
• Only one team in the country has more wins against top-50 RPI teams than Georgia Tech’s 15 — No. 1 Tennessee (17). The next two closest teams are No. 10 Louisville and No. 14 Clemson (14).
• Inside the top-25 RPI, Georgia Tech has played an impressive 23 opponents, while just 16 of Tennessee’s are currently ranked 25 or better.
• Unsurprisingly, Georgia Tech has played more games against top-50 RPI teams than anyone in the country at a whopping 31. The next closest team nationally is North Carolina’s 29.

• This season, Georgia Tech has had multiple National Players of the Week in Kevin Parada, Tim Borden II and Andrew Jenkins.
• Parada currently ranks second in the country in home runs (23) and total bases (157), while ranking third in RBI (74), 10th in hits (77) and 15th in slugging (.741).
• In the ACC, Jenkins leads the league in hits (79), ranking seventh nationally, while Borden is also No. 11 in the league in home runs with 14.
• Also red-hot at the plate are Chandler Simpson (.433), Tres Gonzalez (.326), and Stephen Reid (.322).
