Georgia Tech fans have spoken and we have listened.
After studying the results of an extensive fan survey conducted last spring, we have gone to work to create a more exciting game day atmosphere for Yellow Jacket fans.
“We have spent considerable time and energy over the past year looking at better ways to serve our fans when they are our guests at Bobby Dodd Stadium. We have put great emphasis on many of the suggestions and concerns fans expressed both in our survey process and directly to us,” said Director of Athletics Dan Radakovich.
“Our Georgia Tech fans are our greatest resource,” Radakovich added. “We want to do everything possible to make the experience on our campus a safe, enjoyable and memorable occasion. It is our hope that our fans will begin to see immediate improvement in a number of areas. Also, we will continue to listen to the thoughts and comments of our supporters throughout the season and make adjustments where possible to enhance the game day experience.”
In the Month of the Fan, we thought we might share a few of the things our fans can expect on their next trip to Bobby Dodd Stadium at Historic Grant Field.
Before fans arrive on campus, they should visit the improved and enhanced game day central page on RamblinWreck.com. This site, dedicated to our fans 24/7, will include game stories, in-depth team information, up-to-the-minute weather reports, directions to all of our parking lots, traffic/road closures, and general Dodd Stadium policies and procedures and allowable items for entry. We hope it will be a one-stop shop for fans making the trip to the Flats to cheer on the Jackets.
When fans arrive to take in exciting ACC football action this fall, they will instantly feel a part of the Yellow Jacket family. Members of the Georgia Tech Athletic Association staff, coaches, and student-athletes from various varsity programs will be on hand to welcome fans and interact with the faithful that make Tech games some of the best in the nation. It is our goal to meet our fans and tell them how excited we are to be in the Georgia Tech family too!
It’s not easy, but we are always trying to improve and update spaces in the oldest on-campus stadium in Division I college football. New signage and renovated common areas are some of the things we have checked off our list for the 2011 season. We hope that our work makes it easier for you to navigate the facility and will provide an enhanced game day experience.
Among the most noticeable upgrades, many of our concession stands have a new coat of paint and a cleaner look. Speaking of concessions, we thought it would be a great idea to take the burden of cash carrying away from our loyal fans. While we still have plenty of ATMs around the facility, we have worked with our concessions partner Sodexo to add 38 point-of-sale credit card locations around Bobby Dodd Stadium. This should make food and beverage transactions for fans easier and more efficient.
Guests in our club and suite areas will notice various exciting upgrades as well. Our suite holders will have the viewing pleasure of new high definition flat screen televisions in the 70-plus guest suites and the popular Tech Terrance area. In our club lounge, we have installed 16 55″ flat-screen high-definition televisions. In addition, we have extended the complimentary beverage list to include soft drinks and water (2 per game ticket) and are happy to announce the addition of the popular Chick-fil-A brand to the club lounge concession area. It will include some fan-favorite items from the original Chick-fil-A sandwich to the chargrilled chicken garden salad. The club lounge itself has a new layout with new furniture to maximize the space and make it easier to move around freely with friends and family.
As you can see, we are not just in the Month of the Fan. These changes will enhance the Georgia Tech football experience all season long! We look forward to hosting all of our fans at Bobby Dodd Stadium at Historic Grant Field this fall.
Go Jackets!!
