PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – Sophomore Paige Hourigan of the Georgia Tech women’s tennis team finished up singles competition in the qualifying singles back draw at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships on Wednesday.

Hourigan faced ACC opponent Daneika Borthwick of Florida State in the round of 32 in the back draw. After winning set one, 6-3, Hourgian, the No. 35-ranked singles player, fell in the next two sets to Borthwick, the No. 66 singles player, 6-3, 6-1.

Hourigan went 1-2 in singles while at the championships. She lost her first match in the qualifying draw against No. 48 Breaunna Addison of Texas but won a match in the back draw against Utah’s Sarah Richter.=

Hourigan will now move on to the main draw in doubles with senior Kendal Woodard. Hourigan and Woodard are the number six seed in the main draw for doubles. Since they are seeded, they receive a first round bye and will play the winner of two opponents that are yet to be determined.
