ATLANTA – On Saturday, the Georgia Tech Volleyball team will hold its annual Gold/White Scrimmage at O’Keefe Gym at 4 p.m. The event is open to the public and admission will be free. Come check out the 2011 team in action before the season gets underway next weekend.
2011 posters will be available on Saturday and after the scrimmage, the team will sign autographs. Prior to the scrimmage, the Jackets will be conducting a clinic for 20 Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta (BBBSMA).
Season ticket holders will be able to pick up their t-shirts at Saturday’s scrimmage and also enjoy some popcorn while they check out the 2011 squad.
Tech returns all but two starters from last year’s team which went 18-14 and 11-9 in the ACC under head coach Tonya Johnson, who is beginning her third season. The 2011 season gets underway next Friday as the Yellow Jackets host the Courtyard Marriott Classic at O’Keefe Gym. Tech hosts Kansas State at 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 26 and then Tennessee Tech (12:30 p.m.) and Louisville the following day.
