LEXINGTON, Ky. – Georgia Tech volleyball (11-3, 2-2 ACC) maintained its No. 18 spot in the latest AVCA Division I Coaches Top 25 Women’s Poll, the AVCA announced on Monday.
Since appearing in the Top 25 at No. 12 on Sept. 30, 2020, Tech has been listed in 29 straight top 25 polls to date. The Jackets are joined in the poll by No. 2 Pitt and No. 3 Louisville among the ACC ranks. Tech was also tabbed No. 12 in the NCAA’s first RPI of the season.
Tech remains in the Top 25 following a gritty homestand including a five-set nail biter against Notre Dame and a slugfest against No. 3 Louisville, the highest ranked opponent the Jackets have ever hosted.
This season, Georgia Tech boasts some of the top numbers in the country, ranking fourth in the nation in kills per set (14.50) and eighth in the NCAA in assists per set (13.16) while leading the ACC in both categories.
Junior outside hitter Julia Bergmann has been the driving force behind Tech’s vaunted attack, leading the ACC in both points per set and kills per set. On a national scale, her 5.28 points per set rank 12th in the country while her 4.48 kills per set are good for 16th in the nation. Senior setter Matti McKissock has been the architect behind the Yellow Jackets’ strong assist numbers, leading the ACC and placing 13th in the nation in assists per set (10.96) as she continues her climb in Georgia Tech history, owning the seventh most career assists of all time to date.
