OGLETREE FINISHES STRONG FOR ASIAN TOUR VICTORY
Andy Ogletree oozed class on his way to securing his maiden title in the professional game today after winning the US$1.5 million International Series Egypt at Madinaty Golf Club in Cairo.
The former amateur star found his feet in the play for pay game after firing a final round eight-under-par 62 to finish with a tournament total of 23 under and win by four shots from Austria’s Bernd Wiesberger, who returned a 63.
Korean Jeunghun Wang (64) and Sihwan Kim (65) from the United States tied for third, seven behind the winner. The result saw Sihwan Kim return to the top of the Asian Tour Order of Merit list.
Ogletree started the day with a three-shot advantage from Wiesberger and took a firm grip of the tournament by touring the front nine in four-under-par 32 with birdies on one, three, five, seven and nine with a dropped shot on eight doing little damage to his lead.
“This is amazing, just incredible,” said the rising star from Little Rock, Mississippi, who earned a cheque for US$270,000.
Added Ogletree: “It has been an awesome week. First time in Egypt. I got to experience everything the tourists do, I went to the Pyramids, we stayed at a great hotel and the golf course was spectacular. It has just been a really awesome. My first trip to Egypt is one that I will never forget.”
A victory in only his fifth start on Tour 🏆

CINK, HALEY II PLAY THE WEEKEND IN HOUSTON
Stewart Cink and Paul Haley II got off to strong starts Thursday and Friday at the Cadence Bank Houston Open and advanced to the weekend, but were unable to sustain their momentum and wound up tied for 57th and 62nd, respectively. Both players finished over par on the par-70 Memorial Park Golf Course.
Chesson Hadley, Richy Werenski and Anders Albertson all missed the cut.
Matt Kuchar rejoins the rest of the Yellow Jacket contingent for the RSM Classic this weekend at St. Simons Island, Ga., which concludes the fall portion of the PGA Tour’s wrap-around schedule.

THIS WEIGHT LOSS DIET HELPED YOUNG DUVAL LOSE 40 POUNDS
The passage of time makes it easy to take for granted, but it’s worth remembering just how good David Duval was.
In the four-year stretch between 1997 and 2001, Duval won 13 times, finished in the top 10 in 10 of 15 majors, won the Tour Championship in 1997, the Players Championship in 1999, and the Open Championship in 2001. Along the way he shot 59 and, for a time, overtook Tiger Woods as World No. 1.
It was clear from the stats that Duval, who is coming off his first full year on the PGA Tour Champions, had mounds of talent. But in a fascinating Golf Digest profile back in 1999 (which you can read for yourself in our archive right here), Duval revealed that adopting a healthy lifestyle was the true key to his success.
Duval started his journey at 226 pounds, and just a few years later, he clocked-in at 180, lost “40 pounds and four notches on my belt,” and his body fat stood at just eight percent.
Peak David Duval’s silky swing during the final round of his ’01 Open win.
