Georgia Tech-Maryland Softball Game Cancelled

COLLEGE PARK, Md.– The scheduled third game of an Atlantic Coast Conference softball series between No. 17 Georgia Tech (45-11, 11-4 ACC) and Maryland (23-18, 5-9 ACC) was cancelled on Saturday due to rainy conditions. The Yellow Jackets won the first game Friday night, 3-2 in 11 innings, and dropped the nightcap, 2-1.

The Jackets clinched their first Atlantic Coast Conference regular season title yesterday with the victory and wrap up conference play at 11-4. Tech will be the No. 1 seed at the ACC Tournament, May 12-15, in College Park, and will face the winner of the No. 4 and No. 5 seeds on Thursday, May 12, at 7:30 p.m.

Tech will take a week off for finals before returning to the diamond on May 9 for Senior Day at Glenn Field. The Jackets will host Troy University for a twinbill at 2 p.m.
