Game Halted Due to Darkness; Resumes Saturday

SANTA BARBARA, Calif.  – With the score tied 1-1 in the middle of the fifth inning, the game against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and the Southern Utah Thunderbirds was halted due to darkness. The game will resume Saturday between the Yellow Jackets’ games against UCSB at 4 p.m. ET and against Southern Utah at 6 p.m. ET.

What Happened So Far
Samantha Pierannunzi singled to lead off the bottom of the first, and she was moved to second on a textbook sacrifice bunt off the bat of Kelsey Chisholm. With one out, Jenna Goodrich stepped to the plate and rocked a single to right, scoring Pierannunzi from second and giving Georgia Tech its first run, 1-0.

Southern Utah retaliated in the top of the fourth with back-to-back two-out doubles to tie the game, 1-1.
