Football Fan Day Set For August 2nd

July 25, 2014

THE FLATS – The unofficial start to football season is Saturday, August 2nd when Georgia Tech holds its annual Fan Day at Bobby Dodd Stadium.

Festivities begin outside the stadium, on Callaway Plaza, at 4:30 p.m., with games and inflatables. Autographs with head coach Paul Johnson and the players begin inside the stadium at 5 p.m., first for season-ticket holders. The general public will be admitted for autographs beginning at 5:30 p.m.

New this season, fans will have a chance to have their photo taken with four of the Yellow Jackets’ football trophies — 1990 National Championship, 2012 Sun Bowl, 1999 Gator Bowl and 1952 Orange Bowl. Fans can also have their photos taken with Georgia Tech’s cheerleaders and Gold Rush, with Buzz and with the Ramblin’ Wreck.

There is no charge for admission. Season-ticket holders will be emailed their early-admission pass the week of July 28th.

When Bobby Dodd Stadium opens at 5 p.m., players will be seated by position group around Grant Field. The only entrance on to Grant Field will be through the tunnel, just off Callaway Plaza on the north end of the stadium.

Every fan will receive a complimentary 2014 Georgia Tech Football poster. There will be a limit of one item signed per person.

Fans can park for free in Peters Parking Deck and in Klaus, as well as on Techwood and Fowler streets.
