Football Fan Day Is Saturday On The Flats

July 31, 2013

THE FLATS – Every Georgia Tech football player and head coach Paul Johnson will be available for autographs and photographs Saturday afternoon when the Yellow Jackets hold their annual Fan Day on Grant Field.

Festivities begin outside of Bobby Dodd Stadium, on Callaway Plaza, at 3 p.m. The autograph/photograph session begins at 4 p.m. and concludes at 5:30 p.m. There is no charge for admission. Click here to download a map of the autograph tent locations for Fan Day.

“Fan Day is a great opportunity for our players and coaches to interact with our supporters,” Associate Athletic Director for Sales and Fan Experience Rick Thorpe said. “There is a growing sense of excitement about the upcoming football season and this event kicks things off the right way.”

At 3 p.m. on Callaway Plaza, there will be inflatables for the kids, games, the Rambling Wreck, cheerleaders, dance team and Buzz, the mascot.

When Bobby Dodd Stadium opens at 4 p.m., players will be seated by position group around Grant Field. The only entrance on to Grant Field will be through the tunnel, just off Callaway Plaza on the north end of the stadium.

Every fan will receive a complimentary 2013 Georgia Tech Football poster. There will be a limit of one item signed per person.

Fans should note that construction continues on Bobby Dodd Way, the street on the north side of Bobby Dodd Stadium.

Fans can park for free in Peters Parking Deck and in Klaus, as well as on Techwood and Fowler streets. For Fan Day, the Third Street walking tunnel will be open for fans who park east of the connector.
