Flores Ready to Open U.S. Open Junior Championship Play

THE FLATS — Georgia Tech women’s tennis freshman Victoria Flores is set to begin singles competition at the 2017 U.S. Open Junior Championships on Monday, Sept. 4. The Fort Dodge, Iowa native will take on Paula Arias Manjon. The match will be the third on court seven with matches beginning at 11 a.m.

The Jacket continues her successful summer on one of tennis’ biggest stages. Flores secured a spot in the main draw earlier this summer, sweeping the singles and doubles titles in the 25th International Junior Tournament of Offenbach, Germany.

Other highlights of her summer included competing in the Junior Championships at Wimbledon where she reached the main draw after a pair of qualifying singles victories and the Nike Junior International Roehampton in Great Britain.

Flores enters the tournament as the 47th ranked player on the junior circuit by the International Tennis Federation (ITF).

Full results and live stats will be available on the U.S. Open site.
