THE FLATS – Georgia Tech track & field will be represented by Nicole Fegans at the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Ore. Fegans will compete in the 5000m race, slated to start at 7:25 p.m. and broadcast on ESPN.
Fegans qualified for this race by placing in the top five of her heat at the NCAA East Preliminary round.
The top 16 runners earn All-American honors with Fegans having the 14th fastest personal best (15:37.16) in the field with the 17th fastest runner in the field posting a personal best 3.24 seconds slower than Fegans’ best mark. To crack the top eight and earn first team All-American honors, Fegans will be aiming for the 15:34.01 mark, the personal best of the eighth fastest runner.
This will be the final race of Fegans’ illustrious Georgia Tech career which has seen her take down nine school records (including the 5000m), four Track All-American honors, one Cross Country All-American honor, three ACC championships including the meet record holder in the 10k, five Track All-ACC honors, three Cross Country All-ACC honors, and two all-south region cross country honors.
