Eubanks Tabbed ACC Player of the Week

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech men’s tennis junior Christopher Eubanks was named the men’s tennis ACC Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

The Atlanta native went 2-0 on Sunday, advancing to an overall 19-4 record and 9-1 in dual match play. In a battle between two top-10 ranked opponents, No. 9 Eubanks upset No. 2 Petros Chrysochos of Wake Forest in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4. The junior then went on to top Liberty’s Vince Salas, 6-2, 6-2 in the second match of the doubleheader.

Eubanks has been in the top 10 of singles players since April 2016. The 6-foot-7 All-American has been ranked has high as fourth this season and has held the No. 1 spot for the Yellow Jackets since the 2015-16 season.

Eubanks and the rest of the squad are back in action this weekend, traveling to Dedham, Mass. on Friday, March 31 for a 2:30 p.m. matchup with Boston College before heading west to South Bend, Ind. for a 12 p.m. bout with the Fighting Irish.
