Dwyer, Miller Named Georgia Tech Student-Athletes of the Week

ATLANTA – Football B-back Jonathan Dwyer and volleyball middle hitter Callie Miller have been named Georgia Tech Student-Athletes of the Week for Monday, Nov. 24, 2008.

Dwyer had 128 yards on 10 carries while scoring two touchdowns in just one half of play in a 41-23 win over then-No. 23 Miami. The sophomore from Marietta, Ga., helped Tech pile up the fifth most rushing yards in school history (472) in the win and currently has 1,184 yards on the ground this season. He leads the ACC and ranks 19th nationally in rushing with 107.6 yards per game.

Miller hit .607 with 3.17 kills, 1.00 blocks and 0.50 digs per set in 3-0 wins over Boston College and Maryland over the weekend. The Whitehouse, Ohio native hit a career-best .789 with 15 kills on 19 attempts against BC. The senior leads the team in blocks with 121 and is ranked fifth in the conference in blocks per set averaging, 1.11.
