Cross Country Lacing Up for Mt. Dew Invitational

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech cross country will travel to Gainesville, Fl. to compete in their second meet of the season at the Mt. Dew Invitational on Friday, Sept. 15. The meet will begin at 7:40 a.m. with the men’s 8K race and the women’s 3M race will follow, with a scheduled start time of 8:20 a.m.

Both races will take place at the Mark Bostick Golf Course. The men and women head into the meet after satisfactory performances in their season opener at the Stan Sim’s XC Opener two weeks ago.

“The Mountain Dew Invitational at Florida will give us a great chance to see the course prior to the NCAA South Regional in November,” stated head coach Alan Drosky. “People think of a golf course in Florida and think flat and fast, but that is not the case in Gainesville. So, racing on the course will be important as we prepare for the regional.”

The following schools are set to compete at the meet: FIU, Flagler, Florida, Florida A&M, Florida Atlantic, Florida Gulf Coast, Florida Southern, Florida State, North Florida, South Florida, Stetson, Tampa, UT Chattanooga, Vanderbilt and Embry-Riddle.
