ATLANTA – Join Georgia Tech head coach Brian Gregory and his wife Yvette together with the American Cancer Society for the premier Atlanta gala, The BasketBALL, May 19 at the Ritz-Carlton Buckhead.
Recently, Coach Gregory and Yvette visited American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge Atlanta. They found it difficult to hear that many people forego cancer treatment because they cannot afford the expense of being near their Atlanta cancer care facility. The Hope Lodge Atlanta is a wonderful and uplifting experience. It is a free “home away from home” for individuals who must travel to Atlanta to undergo cancer treatment. Hope Lodge Atlanta is a shining testament of community support, which enables cancer patients to focus on what is really important – getting better.
After Coach and Mrs. Gregory visited Hope Lodge, they immediately knew that they would enthusiastically embrace becoming the Chairs of the 2012 Atlanta Gala, The BasketBALL…. Celebrating a Season of Hope.
The Mission
The purpose of this event is to raise funds to support the ongoing mission of the American Cancer Society Winn-Dixie Hope Lodge. The mission of the Hope Lodge is to provide a free “home away from home” for cancer patients traveling to Atlanta for outpatient treatment at local hospitals and clinics. By doing this, we can improve the quality of life of these patients during their most vulnerable time as they deal with cancer.
