LAS VEGAS (AP) – Chris Braun scored 14 points to lead St. Louis past Georgia Tech 67-54 for fifth place in the Las Vegas Invitational Saturday.
St. Louis (2-2) led 30-23 at the half and shot 50 percent from the field. Marque Perry added 12 points and Randy Pulley had 10.
Georgia Tech (2-3) started the game on a 7-0 run, but only shot 33.9 percent from the field. Tony Akins had 16 points and B.J. Elder added 13.
St. Louis, whose second-half lead never dropped below seven, outscored Georgia Tech 32-18. The Billikens’ lead grew to 67-49 in the final minute.
The Billikens took the lead for good, 22-21, with 4:30 left in the first half on a Jason Edwin putback basket, after three ties and four lead changes.
