>> A power surge from LF Brandon Thomas has the junior fourth in the ACC in batting average at .379. Against the conference, Thomas is hitting at a .391 clip, which is second-best. The Atlanta native is 33 for his last 75 (.440), had a game-winning RBI double in the eighth inning to beat Duke 1-0 and ripped a game-tying RBI double in the ninth to force extra innings versus No. 2 Florida State.
>> Senior 1B Jake Davies carries a career-best 10-game hitting streak, which includes two hits each in five of his last six games. Davies has the average up to .341 and his 37 RBI are fourth-most in the ACC. It’s his second 10-game hit streak this season.
>> Sophomore reliever Alex Cruz was responsible for both Tech wins last week, pitching 10.2 innings in three appearances and getting victories over Mercer and Wake Forest. Cruz (3-1, 1.32 ERA) has allowed just one run over his last 21.1 innings pitched.
>> The Panthers beat Tech, 5-4, on March 7 and have won two-straight in the series for the first time since 1980.
