Aqua Jackets Set To Host Men's and Women's ACC Championships

ATLANTA – The Georgia Tech men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will host the Atlantic Coast Conference Championships, beginning Feb. 16-19 (women) and ending Feb. 23-26 (men), in the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center. The meet will run preliminaries at 11 a.m. and finals starting at 6 p.m., with the exception of Wednesday of each week, running just two relays beginning at 7 p.m.

On the men’s side, two Yellow Jackets attained NCAA `B’ qualifying standards heading into the ACC meet. Junior Jason Howard posted a NCAA `B’ cut time of 1:38.90 in the 200-yard freestyle against Clemson on Jan. 22. Junior All-American Sam Morgan swam a NCAA `B’ cut standard time of 4:27.32 in the 500 free at the Georgia Tech Invitational on Nov. 20.

Sophomore All-American Vesna Stojanovska leads the women with NCAA `B’ cut times of 1:49.22 and 4:51.20 in the 200- and 500-yard freestyle events. The Skopje, Macedonia, native currently holds the top time in the ACC in the 200 free.
