THE FLATS – Georgia Tech volleyball head coach Michelle Collier released the 2017 slate on Tuesday, highlighted by eight 2016 NCAA tournament participants, two home tournaments and 17 home matches.
The Jackets open the season at home on Aug. 25, hosting Auburn as the first match of the Hyatt Regency Tournament. As a part of the tournament, Tech will also host Furman and Michigan State (NCAA participant).
Tech then treks cross country to San Diego for a tournament at San Diego Sept. 1-2, facing off against the Toreros (NCAA participant), Villanova and Texas (NCAA runner-up) before returning to O’Keefe Gymnasium for another tournament Sept. 7-8.
The Jackets cap off their non-conference slate with a matchup against in-state rival Georgia, traveling to Athens on Sept. 15.
Atlantic Coast Conference play kicks off on the road at Clemson on Sept. 22. Tech returns home for matchups against North Carolina State (Sept. 29) and North Carolina (NCAA participant) on Oct. 1.
The Jackets spend two more ACC weekends on the road before heading back to O’Keefe to take on Syracuse (Oct. 20) for the Alumni Match. Tech remains home for three more conference matches against Boston College, Duke and Wake Forest.
After taking on Virginia Tech, Virginia, North Carolina and NC State on the road, the Jackets finish out the regular season at home, hosting Clemson (Nov. 15), Pittsburgh (Nov. 19), Miami (Nov. 22) and Florida State (Nov. 24).
