159 Tech Student-Athletes named to ACC Academic Honor Roll

Aug. 7, 2014 THE FLATS – Georgia Tech has 159 student-athletes selected to 57th annual Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Honor Roll, including track and field student-athlete Elizabeth Lacksen for the sixth time, and 2014 golf graduate Bo Andrews for the fifth time.

The ACC Academic Honor Roll, recognizing academic excellence by student-athletes during the 2013-14 academic year, was announced Thursday by Commissioner John Swofford.

In addition, 13 Yellow Jackets earned a place on the honor roll for the fourth time, including Anders Albertson (golf), Alec Clifford (track and field), Nick Colletti (swimming and diving), Kaleigh Colson (volleyball), Will Jackson (football), Anton Lagerqvist (swimming and diving), Seth Reeves (golf), Cameron Reid (track and field), Alysha Rudnik (softball), Ryan Salmon (swimming and diving), Ollie Schniederjans (golf), Chas Thomason (track and field) and Muriel Wacker (tennis).

Schniederjans is one of 30 ACC student-athletes on the list who also was named an ACC Player of the Year in 2013-14.

The Honor Roll is comprised of student-athletes who participated in a varsity-level sport and registered a grade point average of 3.0 or better for the full academic year. The conference recognized a record 3,967 student-athletes for their hard work in the classroom during the 2013-14 academic year.

Duke led all schools with an ACC-record 494 student-athletes recognized, eclipsing its own mark of 474 set last year. Boston College followed with 402 honorees, and Notre Dame saw 397 student-athletes achieve Honor Roll status following its first year of ACC membership. North Carolina saw 347 student-athletes recognized, followed by Virginia with 305, Virginia Tech with 232, NC State with 230, Syracuse with 229, Maryland with 224, Pitt with 213, Florida State with 202, Clemson with 198, Wake Forest with 183, Georgia Tech with 159 and Miami with 152.
