THE FLATS – Georgia Tech track & field head to Clemson, S.C. from Jan. 28-29 for the Bob Pollock Invitational. Friday’s action starts at 9:30 a.m. and Saturday starts at 9 a.m.
This is the third consecutive week where the track & field team is competing. They will compete for six consecutive weeks ahead of ACC Championships.
The Jackets competed at the Carolina Challenge last weekend. At the meet, Taylor Grimes took first with a mark of 5.84m (19’2”) and Olivia Moore placed second in the women’s pole vault with a mark of 4.05m (13’3.5”).
Shanty Papakosta continued her string of top finishes in the women’s high jump, finishing second among attached athletes with a leap of 1.73m (5’8”).
The 5000m had Tech prominently on the podium. Ethan Curnow took home the top spot in the men’s 5000m (14:48.73) and Clay McKnight secured second in the women’s 5000m (17:54.71).
Lydia Troupe placing third in the women’s 400m (57.45) and Taylor Grimes continued to post top times in the women’s 60 hurdles clocking in at 8.50 at the finals.
