April 4, 2012

Atlanta – The Georgia Tech women’s basketball team added another accomplishment to its record-breaking season of 2011-12 as the Yellow Jackets were ranked No. 10 in the final ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll, released Wednesday.

The No. 10 ranking is the highest the Yellow Jackets have ever been ranked.

Georgia Tech won a program-record 26 games this season and the Yellow Jackets advanced to their first Sweet 16, before falling to eventual national champion Baylor.

“I’m really proud of this team and all the things we accomplished this season,” head coach MaChelle Joseph said. “To finish the season as one of the top 10 teams in the country is a huge accomplishment for all the hard work we put in. The future is bright for Georgia Tech women’s basketball.”
