Yellow Jacket Women Host Grambling State Sunday Afternoon

Dec. 4, 2004

ATLANTA – Riding a 4-0 record after defeating the sixth-ranked Georgia Bulldogs Friday night, the Georgia Tech women’s basketball team will host Grambling State at 2 p.m. Sunday at Alexander Memorial Coliseum.

The Yellow Jackets’ 55-49 victory over Georgia marked the highest-ranked team that Georgia Tech had defeated since 1992, when it downed a fourth-ranked Maryland team by one point.

The Jackets now turn their attention to Grambling State, which enters the contest with a 2-2 record after dropping a game at Auburn, 87-44, Thursday evening. Sunday’s matchup will mark the first time that the two teams have ever met on the basketball court.

Following Sunday’s contest, the Jackets will take the week off for final exams before making their first road trip of the season, traveling to Tulsa for a 5:30 p.m. ET game Sunday.
