Women’s Tennis Visits Syracuse, Boston College

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech women’s tennis concludes this four-match road swing to open Atlantic Coast Conference play this weekend, visiting Syracuse on Friday and Boston College on Sunday.

No. 37 Georgia Tech (4-4, 1-1 ACC) split a pair of ACC matches last weekend at Miami and Florida State. After dropping a very close 4-3 decision at Miami, the Yellow Jackets rebounded collecting their first ACC win of the season at Florida State on Sunday. Mahak Jain completed a come-from-behind victory to clinch Tech’s win over the Seminoles. The Jackets have held strong in doubles play to open ACC action, collecting both doubles points in the opening weekend.

No. 73 Syracuse (6-3, 0-2 ACC) opened conference play with trips to Virginia Tech and Virginia, dropping a pair of matches. The road swing snapped a four-match win streak the Orange held going into conference play. Shiori Ito leads Syracuse with a 7-2 record. Georgia Tech leads the all-time series against Syracuse, 7-3, but the Orange have taken the last two meetings.

Boston College (4-3, 1-1 ACC) split a pair of matches at Virginia and Virginia Tech to open conference play last weekend. BC rolled to a 6-1 decision against the Hokies to pick up their first conference win. The Eagles are 3-0 when competing at home and host Clemson on Friday before welcoming the Jackets on Sunday.
