THE SCENE: Georgia Tech (14-10) looks to secure a spot in the NCAA Tournament second round for the 21st time in program history after meeting Memphis in the first round on Friday. The winners of each regional this weekend will advance to a super-regional site for the round of 16.
Georgia Tech and Memphis have met four times in program history dating back to the first meeting in 1985. The Jackets have taken all four matches, including a 7-0 sweep most recently in 2021.
Memphis (20-6, 5-1 American) won the American Athletic Conference tournament title for the first time in program history in April. The Tigers have won seven of their past eight matches entering NCAA play.
