Coming off a ranked win at No. 20/19 Georgia on Sunday, Georgia Tech brings a 6-2 overall record into Thursday night’s meeting against UConn. The Yellow Jackets trailed by as many as 11 points in the third quarter before making a comeback to take its second-straight win in Athens. Nerea Hermosa and Eylia Love led the Jackets offensively, each contributing 14 points, while Lorela Cubaj notched her fourth double-double behind 11 points and a game-high 15 rebounds.
UConn carries a 5-1 overall mark into the matchup after picking up a 73-54 decision against No. 24/25 Notre Dame on Sunday. The Huskies, who will play without leading scorer Paige Bueckers due to injury, will meet its second of three ACC opponents when facing the Yellow Jackets. UConn’s only loss of the season comes against top-ranked South Carolina in the Battle 4 Atlantis Women’s Tournament. Bueckers leads the Huskies, averaging 21.2 points per game, followed by Christyn Williams at 15.0 points.
Georgia Tech and UConn will meet for the third time in program history on the hardwood Thursday night. The Huskies lead the all-time series, 2-0, after taking the last meeting in Atlanta on Nov. 21, 2010. The programs first met in 2008 in Storrs.
