We missed you, and I hope you missed us. Georgia Tech football is back and so is Sting Daily.
When Sting Extra – a previous Tech athletics newsletter published by an outside company, Official Sports Report (OSR) — went down for the count in mid-spring, it happened as there was still plenty of baseball, softball and other spring sports to write and converse about. There wasn’t much we could do, however, to aid the Tulsa-based OSR folks whose business model collided with the economy.
So there’s a new name, yet only minor changes. We’ll still show up in your e-mail box six days a week, and solicit occasional – always voluntary — input from you for publication on Tech athletics. Jon Cooper and I will continue to be your frequent companions, and I hope we continue to receive written contributions from Wes Durham and the Tech sports information staff.
We’ll put out a mail bag this weekend. Send questions that pertain to football (not ready for other sports just yet), and whether we can answer them or need to ask a player or coach we’ll try to assemble perhaps 10 of the most interesting questions and answers for Sunday’s edition.
Bear with us as we take a day or two to re-discover our rhythm. Like players who don’t put on pads for the first few days, we have to get our legs back.
