THE FLATS – The Georgia Tech volleyball team has a big weekend ahead of it as the Yellow Jackets travel to North Carolina to take on a red-hot NC State team and North Carolina. Tech faces the league-leading Wolfpack on Friday at 7 p.m. in Raleigh, N.C., before playing at North Carolina on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Georgia Tech (11-2, 3-0 ACC)
The Yellow Jackets have swept six of their last seven opponents, including two victories against Boston College and Maryland at home last weekend. Tech is a perfect 7-0 at home this season and is currently enjoying a four-game winning streak.
The Jackets’ serving game has been a key tool in the Tech’s success this season. Georgia Tech is currently ranked No. 1 in the country with 2.04 aces per set and junior setter Kaleigh Colson is No. 4 nationally, averaging 0.58 aces per game.
Tech is undefeated in the ACC and sit in second place. The last time Georgia Tech won its first three league matches was in 2009 went the team went 4-0, defeating Clemson, NC State, UNC and FSU.

NC State (13-1, 3-0)
The league-leading Wolfpack is coming off home wins over North Carolina, Wake Forest and Duke to open its ACC schedule. It marked the first time in school history that NC State swept the Big Four in ACC play.
With victories against Wake Forest and UNC, the team has opened the season with back-to-back ACC wins for only the second time since 1988. The Jackets will be looking to snap NC State’s current eight-game winning streak and hand the Wolfpack its first conference loss.

The Tar Heels have won their last four matches. North Carolina defeated Clemson, 3-1, on Wednesday. senior Emily McGee finished with her second-straight double-double with 15 kills and 19 digs, while junior Kayla Berringer added 13 kills, and senior Cora Harms recorded 22 digs to lead UNC.
Tech will be looking to hand the Tar Heels their first loss at home as the team is 7-0 at Carmichael Arena.
