Tringale Signs Golf Letter with Tech

Nov. 11, 2004

ATLANTA – Georgia Tech, the nation’s No. 2-ranked golf team, has signed Cameron Tringale of Laguna Niguel, Calif., the nation’s 27th-ranked junior player, head coach Bruce Heppler announced Thursday.

Tringale, an honorable mention All-American by the American Junior Golf Association and ranked No. 27 in the nation by the National Junior Golf Scoreboard, will be the only fall signee for the Yellow Jackets, who will lose two seniors after the upcoming spring season.

“We were impressed with his mechanics and fundamentals,” said Heppler. “We’re excited about him. He’s a very good student and very conscientious, and has a chance to become a very good player.”

Among Tringale’s accomplishments last summer were a tie for sixth at the Heather Farr Classic, a tie for seventh at the FootJoy Boys Invitational, a tie for 10th at the Lennar Junior at Mission Hills, a tie for 20th at the Rancho Santa Margarita Auto Dealers/Cox Communications Junior, a tie for 37th at the Rolex Tournament of Champions and a 28th-place finish at the Western Junior Amateur.
