Three Jackets Named Golf All-America Scholars

Norman, Okla. – Georgia Tech’s Bartley Forrester, Christo Lamprecht and Ross Steelman have been named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars for NCAA Division I by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

A total of 440 NCAA Division I student-athletes from 157 schools earned the honor for 2021-22. To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their Associate’s Degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50 percent of their team’s competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, under 78.0 in NCAA Division II, under 79.0 in NCAA Division III, under 78.0 in NAIA, and under 77.0 in NJCAA, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.

Forrester (Gainesville, Ga./junior/business administration) and Steelman (Columbia, Mo./junior/history, technology and society) have each been honored for the second time, while Lamprecht (George, South Africa/sophomore/business administration) made the list in his first year eligible.

Forrester and Lamprecht also were named to the Atlantic Coast Conference All-Academic golf team earlier in the spring, and both were named to the All-ACC golf team for their on-course performance in 2021-22. They also earned honorable mention All-America distinction by the GCAA, while Steelman made the organization’s All-East Region team.

Lamprecht finished the spring ranked No. 27 nationally by both polls, the highest ranking of any Tech player. Forrester finished No. 69 by Golfstat and No. 81 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Index, while Steelman was No. 141 and No. 114, respectively. Lamprecht and Steelman each posted six top-10 finishes in 2021-22 for the Yellow Jackets, while Forrester had four, including a victory at The Calusa Cup.
