THE FLATS – Georgia Tech softball takes on Virginia in a key ACC series in Charlottesville, Va. Firday – Sunday. The Jackets are looking to maintain or gain position in the ACC standings, currently in seventh place, while the Cavaliers are last in the league. The top eight teams go to the ACC Tournament with just three ACC series left for the Yellow Jackets.

The Jackets lead the all-time series against the Cavaliers, 42-39, with a 16-10 mark in Charlottesville. In the teams’ last meeting, Tech won 8-6 in 11 innings in Atlanta.

If any of the three games this weekend go to extra innings, it would give Tech 10 or more extra-inning games on the season, which would be the most in the NCAA in 2017.
