Tech Tops Georgia State, 3-0

PANTHERSVILLE, Ga. – Georgia Tech softball (33-12, 11-10 ACC) bested Georgia State (16-24, 6-9 SBC) in a pitcher’s duel, 3-0, on Wednesday night at the Bob Heck Softball Complex.

Junior hurlers Chandler Dennis and Blake Neleman shut out the Panthers from the circle, allowing just four hits on the day. Dennis got the start and earned the win, allowing three hits and adding a pair of strikeouts through 4 1/3 innings of work. Neleman picked up where Dennis left off, tallying four strikeouts and surrendering one hit in 2 2/3 innings to pick up her team-high fourth save. Sophomore shortstop Jin Sileo led the squad at the dish, going 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a walk.

After four scoreless innings, Georgia Tech broke open the stalemate in the top of the fifth. The Yellow Jackets opened the inning with five consecutive walks to score their first two runs.
