JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Georgia Tech softball (1-2) split day two of the River City Leadoff on Saturday, dropping a 4-3 heartbreaker to Providence before topping UMass-Lowell, 9-8, in an extra innings effort.

Sophomore Tricia Awald records the first home run of the season for the Yellow Jackets, sending one over right center in the top of the third to score Zeitler and put the Jackets up 3-0.

Sophomore Skye Webb joins the grand slam club, sending a home run over left center in the bottom of the first to move Tech’s lead to 5-0.
Juniors Rebecca Prairie and Drew Puckett hit RBI singles with the bases loaded to move the tally to 7-0 in the bottom of the second.
