Tech Shines On Day One Of Yellow Jacket Invite

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech track and field freshman Kaylee Isaacs notched a season-best time of 18:00.16 in the women’s 5,000-meter run en route to a second place finish to highlight the first day of the Yellow Jacket Invitational.

On the men’s side, senior Niall Longobardi and sophomore Billy Koskiewicz finished in the top five of the men’s 5,000 meters with season-best results. Koskiewicz notched a personal-best time of 14:50.12 to place third while Longobardi ran a time of 14:54.92 to take fourth place in the event.

Senior Elena Hubbard snagged a top-five finish by clocking a 18:16.48 in the women’s 5,000 meters. Sophomores Kelly Meyer and Paige Selent each bagged top-10 finishes in the event with times of 18:26.29 and 18:44.51, respectively.

Senior Austen Gutierrez, running the men’s 5,000 meters for the first time this season, finished eighth with a time of 15:09.98.

Day two of the Yellow Jacket Invitational begins at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with the shot put.
