Tech-Miami Set for 3:30 p.m.

Sept. 20, 2004

ATLANTA–Georgia Tech’s home game against fourth-ranked Miami on Oct. 2 will kick off at 3:30 p.m. at Bobby Dodd Stadium/Grant Field, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced Monday.

The game will be regionally televised on ABC-TV (WSB Channel 2 in Atlanta), Tech’s second ABC appearance of the season.

Tech (2-1 overall, 1-1 ACC) has an open date this week before hosting the Hurricanes. Miami (2-0, 1-0 ACC), ranked fourth in both major polls, plays at Houston this Thursday night.

Tech and Hurricanes will be meeting for the first time since the 2000 Gator Bowl, which Miami won, 28-13. But the Jackets lead the series, 6-3, including four straight wins from 1970-78. The Hurricanes are making their first trip to Atlanta since 1978, when Tech won 24-19.

The Tech-Miami game is sold out.
