Tech Baseball Game at Mercer Cancelled

April 1, 2009

ATLANTA – Georgia Tech’s baseball game at Mercer has been cancelled due to wet field conditions.

Macon was hit hard by rain overnight, and it was determined that Claude Smith Field will not be playable by 6 p.m. this evening. The two teams have not set a makeup date.

The rain-out is the Yellow Jackets’ fifth cancellation of the 2009 season – four due to rain and another to snow – and second in the last week. Tech’s highly-anticipated home game against No. 1 Georgia was rained out last Wednesday.

The Yellow Jackets return to action this weekend when they host No. 5 North Carolina for a three-game series at Russ Chandler Stadium. Game times are 7 p.m. Friday, 3 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.
