ATLANTA–Every ticket has been sold for Georgia Tech’s home opener against sixth-ranked Auburn on Sept. 6 at the newly expanded and renovated, 55,000-seat Bobby Dodd Stadium at Historic Grant Field
Meeting for the first time since 1987, Tech and the Tigers kick off at 3:30 p.m. in a game that will be regionally televised on ABC-TV.
The crowd of 55,000 will be the largest at Tech’s historic facility since 1985, when stadium capacity was listed at 58,121. A standing-room-only crowd of 59,602 fans watched the Yellow Jacket defeat Georgia, 20-16, on Nov. 30, 1985. Following that season, the 60-year-old South Stands were razed to make way for the current Wardlaw Center, reducing capacity.
Single-game tickets remain for Georgia Tech’s home games against Clemson (Sept. 20), NC State (Oct. 4), Maryland (Oct. 23) and North Carolina (Nov. 15).
Tech’s season finale against Georgia on Nov. 29 is very close to a sellout. The only remaining tickets for that game are available as part of a very limited number of mini-season ticket packages, covering the Maryland, North Carolina and Georgia (Nov. 29) games and priced at $89.
