Swimming & Diving Returns From Break To Face NC State Saturday

Jan. 16, 2009

ATLANTA – After more than six weeks since last competing, the Georgia Tech Swimming & Diving teams will travel up to Raleigh, N.C., to take on NC State in a dual meet Saturday at 11:00 a.m.

“NC State is a tough team and very good in dual meets,” Georgia Tech Head Coach Stu Wilson said. “It has been six weeks since we last swam, but we are going to go up there and compete hard. With the ACC Championships quickly approaching, it will be good to see where we stand and what we need to continue working on.”

The men’s team enters the meet with a 4-1 overall record and is tied for fifth place with a 1-1 mark in ACC competition. The women, meanwhile, are 4-4 overall and 0-3 in the ACC.

Tech and NC State will swim 13 events in Saturday’s meet. They will each compete in the 400-medley relay, 1,000-free, 200-free, 50-free, 400-IM, one-meter diving, 200-fly, 100-free, 200-back, 500-free, three-meter diving, 200-breast and the 400-free relay.
