Swim-Dive Opens Season with Intrasquad Scrimmage

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech swimming and diving will open the 2022-23 season with an Intrasquad Scrimmage on Sept. 16-17 at McAuley Aquatic Center. The scrimmage will begin on Friday at 2:00 pm and then continue Saturday at 7:00 a.m.

Before they host their first opponent in October, the Yellow Jackets will battle against through a Gold vs. White matchup. On day one of the scrimmage, only swim events will be contested in an ongoing 16-event schedule. Day two of the meet will feature a combination of swim and diving events.

Each swimmer will compete in four events, at least two must be individual events, per day. The divers will practice on Friday and then join the competition on Saturday.

Both teams have been assigned captains for the scrimmage. Gold will be led by Abby Cohen, Wiggo Frohde and Carmen Woodruff while White will be captained by Justin Alderson, Claudia Butterfield and Antonio Romero.

Friday:

  1. 200-yard Freestyle Relay (Followed by 5 min. break)
  2. 200-yard Individual Relay
  3. 500-yard Freestyle
  4. 100-yard Breaststroke
  5. 200-yard Backstroke
  6. 100-yard Freestyle
  7. 200-yard Butterfly (Followed by 5 min. break, if needed)
  8. 400-yard Medley Relay

Saturday:

  1. 200-yard Medley Relay
  2. Diving Event
  3. 400-yard Individual Relay
  4. 200-yard Freestyle
  5. 100-yard Butterfly
  6. 200-yard Breaststroke
  7. 100-yard Backstroke
  8. 50-yard Freestyle
  9. 1000-yard Freestyle (Followed by 5 min. break, if needed)
  10. 400-yard Freestyle Relay
