THE FLATS – The 2023-24 Georgia Tech Swim-Dive Meet schedule was announced today. The season kicks off with the White vs Gold Intrasquad Scrimmage on Sept. 22. The McAuley Aquatic Center will host four other home meets, including Florida State on Oct. 19.
2023-24 Highlights:
- Tech starts its season with a White vs Gold Intrasquad Meet;
- The first home meet is on Oct. 19 against Florida State;
- The Yellow Jackets will travel for its annual invitational matchup at the UGA invite on Nov. 16-18;
- The National Qualifier for Diving is set to begin Nov. 28 through Dec. 2;
- The US Open-Swim is set to begin Nov. 29 through Dec. 2;
- The US Diving Nationals is set to begin Nov. 29 through Dec. 6;
- Tech will host two-straight home meets in early 2024, including Carson Newman and East Carolina;
- The ACC Championships are from Feb. 19-24 in Greensboro, N.C. ;
- The NCAA Championship will take from March 20-23 for the women in Athens and March 27-30 in Indianapolis for the men.
Jackets’ Success in 2022-23
- Five swimmers, members of the men’s team qualified for the NCAA Championships. Batur Unlu, Mert Kilavuz, and Berke Saka competed in multiple events. In the 500 free, Mert Kilavuz recorded a season best time of 4:17.41. Elijah Klier competed on the platform.
- A member of the women’s team, Anna Bradescu qualified for the NCAA Championships and competed on the platform.
- At the ACC Championships, the Jackets had 26 personal and 23 season best times. Batur Unlu finished with two silver medals, Kilavuz finished with a silver medal.
- 25 Jackets selected to the ACC All-Academic team.
- Twelve athletes were named to the CSCAA Scholar All-America team, marking the program’s 12th-straight year of having eight or more recognitions.
