Summer Baseball Update: Thursday action

SS Jacob Esch (.287) went 0-for-4 including a strikeout. RHPKevin Jacob worked a 1-2-3 ninth inning (two strikeouts anda groundout) to record his league-leading 11th save as the Bucsbeat the Goldpanners 6-5 in Anchorage. DH Patrick Long (.296) was 0-for-3 with a walk. 3B Thomas Nichols (.333) went 3-for-5 with a walk, a two-runsingle and a solo home run. 1B Tony Plagman (.210) was 1-for-3 with a solo home run, hisfirst at Cape Cod, along with a run-scoring sacrifice bunt. CFJeff Rowland (.247) went 2-for-3 with a triple, a two-runsingle and a strikeout. 2B Connor Winn was 0-for-3.
